Building Community Bridges, Inc. Press release March 8th, 2011 New York (BCB)--March 8th is a special day for BCB. It is a day to recognize the importance of women in leadership roles in their community. On this occasion of the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day, UNDP Administrator Helen Clark stated that “Empowered women and girls have a truly transformative role to play in all our societies, with benefits for all. Around the world, healthy, educated, employed, and empowered women break poverty cycles – not only for themselves, but for their families, communities, and countries too.” BCB believes in this message. BCB is working to empower women in the villages of Togo and other West African countries. Please join us in making a donation to help support our cause.
